The spectacular, illuminated trail, full of wonder and intrigue, returns in 2026 to delight and enthral your senses.

As darkness descends, join us on an enchanting journey as we weave a captivating light trail through the stunning, historic grounds of Coombe Abbey Park. Immerse yourself in our mesmerising mile long trail, with stunning lighting elements and fabulous light play, all set to music.

These interactive Christmas lights in Coventry are a timeless experience to be enjoyed by all, young and old alike - now re-imagined for 2026. We have new dog friendly and SEN lights; just look for the symbol on the booking page when picking your dates.

Tasty hot food and drink will be available at the start & end of the trail, and along the path you will find marshmallows for toasting on our fire pits. Don't miss out – this event is a great idea for family-friendly, fun things to do in Coventry.

This mile-long illuminated trail features stunning lighting installations throughout our historic grounds, and makes the perfect festive experience for families, couples, and groups looking to celebrate the season with a magical outdoor light show.

Follow the twinkling festoon lights along the path, and you'll never lose your way! Friendly stewards are also there along the trail to guide you, ensuring you have a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Yes! Luminate Coombe Coventry is designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Children will love the magical light displays, and there are even marshmallow toasting fire pits along the route for any hungry tummies. For 2026, we've also introduced special SEN (Special Educational Needs) friendly sessions - look for the symbol when booking your tickets.

BACK FOR 2026 - Dogs will be welcome to join their two legged friends 27th November, 1st, 4th, 8th, 11th, 15th, 18th, 22nd, 26th and 29th December 2026. Look for the dog symbol on the calendar.

On the these dates only, due to popular demand, we are excited to allow dog owners to bring their dogs along to Luminate. This is only permitted on specified dog days and on all other dates dogs are not allowed at Luminate.

Yes! Hot food and beverages are available at both the start and end of the trail. You'll also find marshmallow toasting stations at fire pits along the route, which make a perfect treat while enjoying the Christmas lights in Coventry.

The Luminate Coventry trail takes approximately 60-90 minutes to walk at a leisurely pace. This gives you plenty of time to enjoy each illuminated installation, take photos, and soak in the festive atmosphere as you journey through the historic Coombe Abbey Park grounds.

Yes, Luminate has been designed to be as accessible as possible within the natural setting of Coombe Abbey Park. The entire route follows established paths and is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. However, please be aware that some sections use loose bark or chippings, which may be more difficult to navigate in adverse weather conditions. Natural debris such as stones, leaves, and twigs may also be present, and some parts of the route have cabling covered with ramp covers. If you have specific access questions, please email access@luminatecoombe.com.

Luminate takes place outdoors during winter evenings, so we recommend dressing warmly in layers. Wrap up with a cosy coat, hat, scarf, and gloves to stay comfortable throughout the 60-90 minute trail. Sturdy, waterproof footwear is essential, as the trail passes through a country park setting where paths may be uneven, muddy, or slippery in wet weather. Leave the heels at home and opt for walking boots or wellies to keep your feet warm and dry whilst you enjoy the illuminations.

Yes, parking is available on-site at Coombe Abbey Park. As you drive in, you'll be directed to the main car park by our stewards and directional signage. Parking costs £5 per car and can be added to your booking when purchasing tickets online, which we recommend to avoid delays on arrival. Blue Badge holders will be parked in the disabled car park area, as close to the pedestrian entrance as possible, though spaces cannot be guaranteed on busy evenings.

Absolutely! Luminate is designed as a magical family experience to be enjoyed by visitors of all ages. Children will love exploring the mile-long illuminated trail with its interactive installations, music-synchronised displays, and around 13 "wow" moments along the route. There are also marshmallow toasting fire pits along the path, perfect for little ones. For families with children who have additional needs, we've introduced special SEN-friendly sessions for 2026 – look for the symbol when booking your tickets.

Yes, the trail is wheelchair accessible, though please note it takes place entirely outdoors in a country park setting. Accessible toilets are available in the Courtyard area and by the Kiosk. Blue Badge holders will be parked as close as possible to the pedestrian entrance. You're welcome to bring your own mobility scooter, though mobility aids are not available to hire. If extreme weather makes the trail unsuitable for wheeled mobility aids, ticket transfers to a more suitable date may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Yes, toilet facilities are available in the Courtyard area and by the Kiosk in the park. Accessible toilets are also provided at both locations.

Yes, Luminate features pulsating, rotating, and flashing light effects throughout the trail, along with laser lights and haze/smoke effects at various points. Projection mapping displays may include up to 10 flashes of light per second. Certain sections may be unsuitable for those with balance disorders or photosensitive conditions. If you have concerns, please contact the team before booking.
